Miss Concert, Gain Book

2003-08-10 - 5:17 p.m.

I wish I could say everything is nice and happy but right now I'm staring at the foreign exchange student with the enormous hairy mole on the side of his face and thinking how unpleasant everything is.

We tried to go swimming on Wednesday, but there was way too much pollution. Bottle plastics wrapped around my calf and pacifiers knocked into my ear.

I am trying to make new friends. I went to an artsy movie with a girl from work. She had never seen a movie with subtitles before. It was Swimming Pool, in case you were wondering, and it was only partial subtitles. She wants to go again, which is good. I miss having someone to enjoy subtitles with.

Because of circumstance, I am unable to go to the Grandaddy concert. This is disheartening not just because I really like Grandaddy, but because I was hoping things would be fixed.

They aren't.

I did get an advance copy of the new Chuck Palahniuk book, though. It's called Diary, and it's...interesting. You have to pay attention but not think too much or else you'll miss the important stuff.

I'm going home for a while to eat properly and enjoy cable television.
