Here's a toast to good music:
Went to the Wolf Parade show at Northsix and oh my. Go to a thesaurus. Look up the word amazing. Note all synonyms. Also note how they do no justice to this band. My new favorites.
The tickets were hot. ("Meet me in Union. Cash only.") Frantic emails to my fella: Um, does this guy seem on the up and up? I don't think you get beaten and raped on a Friday at 4 PM in Union Square, but...
This band is so good that we drove in to Brooklyn (from LI) at 10:30 to see them go on at 11:15. PM. On a work night.
Also saw Death Cab at Hammerstein, but I was not impressed. For a band that was as necessary as air for me for a couple of years, I was pretty uninterested and my feet hurt. God, I felt guilty for not liking it better.
